First I've been looking at paintings of revolutions.
This first one is Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People, a portrayal of the French Revolution painted in 1830. Wikipedia

Another revolution painting is that of Gustave Wappers portrayal of the Belgian Revolution.

This photograph is of the Libyan Revolution and was taken from the Guardian Newspaper.

This is just an initial look at a few images. I think it's interesting how the paintings are very dramatic and almost try to depict the whole event in one Painting. The photographs I looked at were also very dramatic, but more so than the paintings. This is probably because the depict actual events and you can almost feel the tension within them. The theme could just be war rather than revolutions and we could look at the images of people like Robert Cappa. Another interesting image is that of the girl running from Napalm in the Vietnam war which I think was taken by Nick Ut. We could compare these with images taken in more recent wars such as those in Iraq and Afganistan.
It wouldn't let me add the images to the blog so I've added the links instead hope it all works!
